Well, eventually he will…I haven’t had the patience so far to dedicated myself to doing the fishing for it daily. But since I’ve had to explain to Kurby the process for getting rep with Nat Pagle a couple of times, I figured I’d do a quick blog post about it. All of my knowledge on the subject has came from the wonderful El over at El’s Anglin!
The only way you can get reputation with Nat Pagle is to fish up rare fish from Pandaria There are three types of fish and you can turn in one of each per day. You can also only ever have one of each in your bag. Theoretically you can fish up one of each, turn them in then fish up another of each for the next day if you don’t have time to fish every day. Sadly they also have a very low drop rate, so you may be fishing a while to get them all, or you may get lucky and get them quickly.
You get one from sha touched water, one from inland water, and one from ocean water. Before patch 5.1 you could only get them from open water, but El reported on twitter the other day that they also now drop from pools in those locations. The fish are Spinefish Alpha (sha touched water), Mimic Octopus (ocean water), and Flying Tiger Gourami (river water), each are unique bind on pickup. The catch rate between pools and open water is about the same, however fishing from pools nets more valuable fish, however if you want to just sit in one spot and aimlessly fish while watching netflix fishing from open water does have it’s perks of not having to move!
El states that it will take an average of 6000 casts to reach best friends with Nat Pagle, so don’t expect this to be a breeze. I personally have other things I’m working on at the moment so I limit my progress to fishing for raid food at the moment. For the best and most current information, visit El’s Anglin at the link above.
So, now that I’ve made it to level 90, I’ve started my daily quests…..wow there are a LOT of daily quests! Since Kurby had the week off, and we hit 90 late Wednesday evening, we’ve been Pandarian for 5 days now! We got our lore-walker titles (and TMNT sewer cover mounts!!), and he’s gotten his serpent mount already…..I can’t see the eggs like he can, but I’m close from daily quests!
I think the hardest for me is the fact you have to max out the Golden Lotus rep just by daily quests (which seem to multiply!). I’m a leather-worker and I need that rep to be able to craft my first epic gear! Over at Restokin and World of Matticus, they have both written pretty good “I’m 90 now what” guides, so I’ll just share their guides instead of writing my own!
I think my favorite daily quests of all, have to be the Tillers. My first goal in was to get the little farm kitten, because…well….it’s LUNA!
Luna and Little Luna
I’m also working on maxing my professions, as of this writing I have maxed everything except for Archaeology but I’m working on it this week. I’ve also maxed professions on a couple of characters I haven’t leveled yet. It is so much easier to hit 600 than it was to hit 525!
I’ve become quite good at spotting the dark soil, but those eggs are so hard to see!
Well – since the guild is 7/8 in DS and 6/7 in FL … and MoP isn’t ready to drop YET… I need *something* to keep me busy, right?
Like Eluna – I’m an acheesement wh… *ahem* fan. Yes, I said acheesement… hush.
I’ve had the Violet Drake for awhile (yay free 310 flying!) and random others. I just recently maxed my Archaeology (YUCK!) to finish up all my professions on Brae. I’ve leveled skinning to max on my Shammy, and LW to 425 (I think?). Leveled enchanting on my druid to 200-something. Leveled tailoring on my Pally (hush… I know… plate-wearing, cloth-making freak she is!)
We’ve run instances to finish up guild and personal acheesement metas and get more mounts.
I just got my 125th (and then 126, 127, and 128th) pet.
And I have a zillion other things I’m playing with.
Tonight – I FINALLY got the Amani War Bear. We’ve done the timed run a bunch of times in the last week or so and ALWAYS we had at least one other person along who could roll on it… and they ALWAYS won. It was getting kind of funny, really.
Here is Brae on her war bear!
Also known as things to keep me from not going crazy when I’m not raiding.
Even though achievements are going account bound, since my druid has become my main, I’ve decided that I need those achievements on HER not the priest.
The current achievements I’m working on are:
- Fishing and Cooking Dailys until done with achievements
- Kalu’ak Dailys
- Continue to work on Loremaster
- Miscellaneous achievements to take a break from those things (ie: to all the pets who have shared my life)
I’ve started the process of getting my older reps to Exalted, mainly because I feel like a slacker even though this character wasn’t made until a month and a half before Cataclysm came out
- Work on BC rep to Exalted
- Work on Wrath rep to Exalted
- Work on Vanilla rep
I know, it all started because I helped my husband slaughter pirates for hours last weekend so he can work on insane in the membrane. Yes. He is. I’m now exalted with all the goblins now. I really honestly think they should make me queen and give me a special crown.
I am also working in the beta a little, not as much as I’d like, but, well…it’s beta and not always playable and the husband really likes to play together on our mains….so….I wait for him to decide to play in beta. I could level my hunter up in beta, but well, I want to test on my …. main!
I’m sure I’ll go pretty much crazy from working on the achievements, but I’ve gotten quite a few under my belt so far, including my fishing turtle and my sewer rat:
It only took me two days of fishing...!
